Here are some titles for novels. If you want to use them or the plots indicated, have your people contact my people. I’m sure we can come to some financial arrangement.
TRAP STREET
A trap street is a fictitious location. Cartographers insert them into their maps to prevent unauthorized copying. If a competitor has this particular thoroughfare in his map, then you know he’s copied your work. So this novel would seem to be a paranoid urban thriller of some sort.
BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA
I’m amazed this title has not been utilized thus far. It obviously has to be a hardnosed police procedural, the type that holds no interest for me.
SENTINEL TO THE NULL
Not a science fiction novel but an existential work about some alienated Knut Hamsun type character. There is nothing beyond one’s current existence; man is merely sentinel to — well, you know.
TITANIC 2012
On the 100th anniversary of the liner’s sinking, a Bill Gates type of billionaire decides to recreate the voyage that his great grandfather never completed. An Arthur Hailey sort of multi-character novel, perhaps with some supernatural elements that will just not let the darn ship make it to New York.
‘MEN WHO MARRY WOMEN’ — WE’LL BE RIGHT BACK
This would be a satire on too obvious a target.
AS IF BY MAGIC
I was disappointed to discover this actually is the title of a forthcoming novel. But I like it so much I’m including it here. I see this as a novel set in England in World War Two with a Scotland Yard detective embroiled in an investigation involving ritual murders, a country estate, and black magic.
